Cut Flowers sprang from Fukuoka's Oyafukodori "gaijin" scene in 2005 when the 3 members of Buck Natural reunited under a new name. The Flowers blossomed from Buck's identity crisis, sharper and funkier, as well known for musical community activism as for their high energy shows. For 2 years, they had audiences dancing across Japan, supporting other fledgling bands, organizing live events, festivals and forming Afronaut Records in 2006. The 2005 full length CD Early Recordings embraced 60s and 70s rock and soul influences from Stax to Abbey Road, while the long awaited followup EP, You Come Around, was released just in time for the band's official breakup in the summer of 2007
